			<title>admin on "New Notes on Using Openmeetings"</title>
			<link>http://help.clclutheran.org/topic.php?id=7#post-8</link>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;1 – I had to reinstall it which means the database got deleted. I saved the user table and was intending to import it into the new database, but for some reason I can’t figure out why it won’t work. Perhaps you have some idea. Whenever I tried to import it it told me there was no data to import.  Anyway the point is the pastors will have to reregister. I apologize for this but there isn’t much I can do. I’ve spent too much time trying to import the user table already. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;2 – I does tend to throw up an error message when you first connect. But it doesn’t actually cause any errors that I can tell. SO just click the button and ignore it. I’ll try to fix this but it doesn’t even tell me what the error is so its a little difficult.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;3 – DON’T USE THE RECORDING FEATURE – I’ve been trying to get this to work. Its why I’ve been messing with it. But currently it does not. And it tends to cause the whole thing to freeze up. So just leave it alone for now. Hopefully I’ll get it working. Don’t share your screen either.&#60;br /&#62;
a.	There is a test screen that comes up when you enter a room that is supposed to let you test your sound and video settings, by recording and playing it back. Since the recording doesn’t work this little applet doesn’t either. Just hit the start conference button and move past it. It doesn’t hurt to try it but it doesn’t work so there isn’t much point.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;4 – (the rest of these are positive things) you can upload any type of document that openoffice can read. So .doc s or even .ppt s.  You don’t need to convert them to pdfs first. The only caveat there is that I don’t think it can handle the newest office files .docx – everything else should work fine. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;5 – There is a working calendar where you can schedule your meetings.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;6  – There is some more software that integrates openmeetings into and provides you with some distinctly other benefits. It’s called Moodle. Its purpose is to create online education communities. The whole purpose of the openmeetings software was to provide a resource for study club type stuff to but also to provide pastors with the ability to teach at a distance when the need arrives. This moodle software should work great for that. It allows you to create classes, and upload and store activities, homework, assignments, etc altogether as a course. It also allows you to meet then in the classroom. I’m testing it out and trying to learn how to use it fully at the moment. But I did create a test PC Study Club course. If you guys want to meet through this medium instead of going directly to openmeetings. Feel free to do that. Besides allowing you to list papers associated with the meeting for download before had it will also allow you to login as a guest. Go to &#60;a href=&#34;http://classes.clclutheran.org&#34;&#62;http://classes.clclutheran.org&#60;/a&#62; to check it out.&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>admin on "Token Mismatch Error on Connections Databse"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Problem: I keep getting the &#34;Token Mismatch&#34; error when attempting to edit my profile on the connections database.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Solution:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I'm really sorry about this problem. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out what is going on here and can't seem to figure it out. One thing that may help you to avoid it is to never hit the back button on your browser. Otherwise try the following:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Honestly your best bet is just to wait and come back and try again tomorrow.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;First: Try clicking on your entry a couple more times. Sometimes the web browser seems to need a couple tries to get it right.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62; If the error persists, the best way to fix it is to copy your entry and delete the origianal. If you do this make sure to update your Church entry since the copied entry is not automaticaly associated (see steps 10 and following below). To do this follow these steps:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;1. Hover your mouse over the entry you are trying to edit.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;2. Click on the &#34;copy&#34; link that appears below your name.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;3. Add a &#34;2&#34; after the last name (or church or school name) on the form. example: Change &#34;Augustin&#34; to &#34;Augustin2&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;4. Make any other changes you wish to, to the form.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;5. Click &#34;Add Entry&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;6. Find your name  in the entry list. You will now see two entries. One the origianl and a second with the &#34;2&#34; added after your name. Example Cathy Augustin would now see two entires one &#34;Augustin, Cathy&#34; and another &#34;Augustin2, Cathy&#34; &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;7. Hover over the original entry (the one WITHOUT the 2) and click the &#34;delete&#34; link that appears beneath your name. example Cathy would delete the entry labeled &#34;Augustin, Cathy&#34; &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;8. Now click on the second entry, the one with the 2 after the name. example Cathy would now click on the entry labeled &#34;Augustin2, Cathy&#34; &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;9. Delete the 2 from the end of the last name. And click the &#34;Update&#34; Button.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;10. Finally find the church you belong to in the list and click on it. example: Cathy would find &#34;Berea Evangelical Lutheran Church&#34; and click on it.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;11. Directly under the name of the Church on the top of the form there is a list of people and school associated with the church. There should also be one where in place of a name it says &#34;Select Entry&#34;. Click on the arrow to the right of this box. Find you name and select it.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;12. Click the big blue &#34;Update&#34; button.

			<description>&#60;p&#62;The following advice comes from Neal Radichel who spent many hours getting the PCPC pastors set up for using clclutheran.org:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;1. Have your camera function separately - from your speakers and microphone (a microphone headset is best)!&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;2. If you don't have a microphone headset (plug in headphones into your computer).  This prevents feedback and echoes heard by others because your microphone is picking up the sound from your computer speakers.  [If the lower left green button is turning on when you are not talking, then your microphone is too loud.]&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;3. Check your volume settings so that your microphone is not picking up this background noise in your room (check distance of microphone to mouth also), since keyboard typing, clocks, and highway noise can be heard if your microphone is turned up too loud.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;4. I've noticed the program runs better when skype or other messaging programs are NOT running.  Disable them, close them, and shut them down!&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;On top of these some more good suggestions are:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Close P2P softwares (Emule, bittorrent...) (A list of P2P softwares)&#60;br /&#62;
Stop downloads&#60;br /&#62;
Close Skype (Skype uses your bandwidth for the other users)&#60;br /&#62;
Close other web browser window (some websites launches the download of some videos)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Finally if you are really adventurous you might consider:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Install a QoS software (For example &#60;a href=&#34;http://bandwidthcontroller.com/trafficShaperXp.html&#34;&#62;Traffic shapper&#60;/a&#62; for Windows)

			<description>&#60;p&#62;All emails address posted in the database or anywhere else on the site are automatically encrypted using a combination of techniques. This means that although any PERSON seeing the site will easily be able to email you, bot, spiders, and other automatic scripts will not see your email address. Although it is impossible to make guarantees email addresses are very well protected.

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Good point Scott -&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;After you have filled out your information don't worry if specific information doesn't appear on the website. Currently the form is simply the default form and is only pulling certain information. If you have filled out the information and at least your Church appears with your name next to it as pastor you are good to go.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I will adjust the forms so that information such as your picture and service times appear once I get a chance.&#60;/p&#62;

			<guid isPermaLink="false">2@http://help.clclutheran.org/</guid>
			<description>&#60;p&#62;1 - 	Go to clclutheran.org&#60;br /&#62;
	Scroll to the very bottom of the page where you will see a small&#60;br /&#62;
link &#34;log in&#34; - click it&#60;br /&#62;
	Log in with the same username and password as you use to log in to the shared files folders on clcserver.org. If you don't remember or don't have this password, send an email to Glenn Oster or Matt Ude asking for it.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;2 -	On the left there will be a sidebar with four main options Dashboard&#60;br /&#62;
- Profile - Tools - Connections&#60;br /&#62;
	Ignore the first three and click on &#34;Connections&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	You will now get a list of all users and churches currently in the&#60;br /&#62;
database, &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;3 -	If you are listed click your name, if you are not listed click &#34;add&#60;br /&#62;
entry&#34; in the sidebar underneath &#34;Connections&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;4 -	Choose the &#34;individual&#34; option at the top of the page&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Fill out as much of the form as you can.&#60;br /&#62;
	Leave Organization and Department EMPTY&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	When filling out your address make sure to use the appropriate TWO&#60;br /&#62;
letter postal code for your state and make it all capital (WI is good, Wi,&#60;br /&#62;
wi, Wis, or Wisconsin is not good)&#60;br /&#62;
If you live in the USA you don't need to fill in the country, If you live in&#60;br /&#62;
Canada fill it in with Canada exactly like that. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	At the bottom of the page Choose the &#34;Public&#34; option, not private or&#60;br /&#62;
unlisted&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;5 -	Then Click &#34;Add Address&#34; or &#34;Submit&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	After hitting the submit button the form will add your name to the&#60;br /&#62;
database and then give you a blank form, now we will enter your churches&#60;br /&#62;
information. (If your name was already in the database before, hitting&#60;br /&#62;
submit took you back to the database list, find your church and click on it,&#60;br /&#62;
or if your church is not there click &#34;add entry&#34; in the sidebar)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;6 -	First choose the &#34;Church&#34; option on top of the page. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Now type in the name of your church under Church. (If your church&#60;br /&#62;
has the same name as another church for example Messiah Lutheran, you may&#60;br /&#62;
want to write your church name in such a way as to distinguish it from the&#60;br /&#62;
other so as not to cause confusion, however the name you choose will be the&#60;br /&#62;
same as that displayed on the website, so if you choose just to stick to the&#60;br /&#62;
basic name you will have to be careful when coming back to update your&#60;br /&#62;
information.)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;7 -	Now click the &#34;add connection&#34; button.&#60;br /&#62;
	You will see two drop down boxes&#60;br /&#62;
	In the first one find your name and select it&#60;br /&#62;
	In the second choose &#34;pastor&#34;&#60;br /&#62;
	You can add more connections later - (eg if you have a school) &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;8 -	Fill out the rest of the form&#60;br /&#62;
	Again ignore organization and department leaving them blank&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Again - When filling out your address make sure to use the&#60;br /&#62;
appropriate TWO letter postal code for your state and make it all capital&#60;br /&#62;
(WI is good, Wi, wi, Wis, or Wisconsin is not good)&#60;br /&#62;
If you live in the USA you don't need to fill in the country, If you live in&#60;br /&#62;
Canada fill it in with Canada exactly like that.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Any service times which  you wish to appear on the website can be listed on the &#34;Notes&#34; section&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Again make sure to click the &#34;Public&#34; option on the bottom of the&#60;br /&#62;
page&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;9 -	Then Click &#34;Add Address&#34; or &#34;Submit&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;10 -	If you have a school you can add your school and your teachers (or&#60;br /&#62;
have them add themselves).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Add teachers using the individual form then add them to your church&#60;br /&#62;
the same way you added yourself. (Click on your church name in the database,&#60;br /&#62;
then click the &#34;add connections&#34; button, then choose their name from the&#60;br /&#62;
first drop down box, then choose their connection from the second)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;11 -	Add your school by clicking &#34;add entry&#34; then choosing the school&#60;br /&#62;
option at the top of the form.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Fill in &#34;Organization&#34; with your school name, skip department&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Choose &#34;Public&#34; at the bottom of the page&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Then Click &#34;Add Address&#34; or &#34;Submit&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;12 -	Now go back to &#34;entry list&#34; and click on your church again&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;	Now add your school the same way you added yourself and your&#60;br /&#62;
teachers only for connections choose &#34;school&#34;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;ALL DONE
